Anish Kapoor’s Cloud Gate stands near the northwest corner of Millennium Park. The mammoth silver sculpture is often called “The Bean” and attracts tourists from across the globe. Despite the controversy that once surrounded the $23 million piece of art, people flock from across the park to its reflective surface.
Tim Carleton traveled from Alaska to see the Chicago Blackhawks face off against the Washington Capitals in a Sunday hockey game. Duke University sophomore Eddie Wu came to Illinois to visit friends at the University of Chicago and Northwestern University. On Friday, both traveled to Millennium Park to gaze at Cloud Gate:
